FAQs

1. What packages and pricing options do you offer for nursery photos?

Could you provide detailed information on the various packages available, including individual children photos, class group photos, and any additional options like sibling photos or sports teams?

All of our prices and packages are available to see on our website, we are one of the lowest priced and best value nursery photography companies out there.

 

2. How do you handle scheduling and organizing the photo day?

What is your process for arranging the photography schedule to ensure minimal disruption to the nursery day? How do you manage large groups of children efficiently?

We will book a day that is suitable for you giving you months to prepare in advance. We will provide all the information that you need to ensure that the day runs smoothly. We generally photograph a class at a time to ensure that there is as little disruption as possible, but we will discuss with you the best way to operate for your nursery.

 

3. What measures do you take to ensure a smooth and efficient photo day?

Can you provide guidelines or suggestions for preparing children and staff for photo day? What equipment and setup will you need from the nursery?

We will need a member of staff available at all times to help look after the children whilst they are waiting to have their photographs taken. As we operate a contactless service, the only other support that we will need from the nursery is to communicate the day with parents and distribute the finished purchased photographs to parents.

 

4. Do you offer any options for retaking images?

In case some children are absent, or their photos need retakes, what is the procedure for organizing and scheduling these additional sessions?

Unfortunately, we are only able to operate on the scheduled day so any absent child will miss out.
If there are several children that are absent, or the day is no longer convenient then please contact us as soon as possible so that we may look at scheduling an additional or alternative day.
If there is an issue on our side and for any reason the photographs do not come out as planned, then we will schedule a reshoot on a day that is suitable for the nursery.

 

5. What kind of background and settings do you use for the photos?

Can you provide samples of the backgrounds and settings you offer? Do you have options for indoor and outdoor photos, and can the nursery choose specific themes or styles?

We operate indoors only as the lighting is more consistent. We use a mixture of grey or black backgrounds which can be seen on our website. We do change the backgrounds at times and keep up to date with all of the latest photography trends. If you do have something in particular that you would like then please discuss it with us at the time of booking.

 

6. How do you handle the delivery and distribution of the photos?

What is the expected timeframe for receiving the final photos after the photo day? How are the photos packaged and delivered to the nursery or directly to parents?

It will take approximately 7 days for the images to be up on our Gotphoto online portal. We will notify you when they are online so that you can then notify the parents, once online parents will have 2 weeks to purchase their images at a discounted rate. At the end of the 2 weeks the images that have been chosen will be processed, ordered and sent to the nursery to be distributed to the parents.

 

7. What are the options for parents to order additional prints or digital copies?

Can parents order additional photos or digital copies online? Are there any special promotions or discounts for bulk orders?

Parents can purchase images online as digital copies or prints or a combination of both. There are several discounted packages available. If they order within the 2 week time period then the images will be sent to the nursery and their will be no charge for postage. After this date parents can order additional prints and digital copies for a period of 6 months, these will then be sent to their home address (if printed) and parents will be charged postage.

 

8. How do you handle confidentiality and data security?

What measures do you have in place to protect the privacy of the childrens’ photos and personal information? How is the data stored and who has access to it?

The images are taken at the nursery sent to Instant Images and edited and processed. Only Instant Images staff have access to the images. Once the images are ready to be viewed they are uploaded to our secure GotPhoto site.

9. Can you provide references or testimonials from other nurseries you have worked with?

Do you have any references or testimonials from other nurseries that have used your services? Can we contact them to learn about their experience?

We have been operating successfully in Scotland for over 20 years and a large percentage of nurseries have stayed with us for a long time. If you would like testimonials or contact details then we would be happy to provide them for you.

 

10. What is your policy for cancellations or rescheduling?

In case of unforeseen circumstances, what is your policy for rescheduling the photo day or cancelling the service? Are there any associated fees?

We do not charge a cancellation Fee as we do not charge a fee to photograph your nursery, but we would ask you to give us as much notice as possible so that we can try and rearrange your date.

 

11. What is your experience working with nurseries and young children?

How many years have you been photographing nursery events?

We have been photographing nurseries for over 20 years. All of our photographers have extensive experience within the industry and are trained to a high standard of photography. The owners of the company are both photographers and are out taking photographs every week so are fully immersed in the challenges of taking children’s photographs.

 

12. Do you provide any special accommodations for children with disabilities or special needs?

How do you ensure that all children are comfortable and accommodated during the photo session? Are there any special techniques or equipment you use?

Over our 20 years of operation, we have built up extensive experience at working with children who have disabilities or special needs. We will always work with the nursery to ensure that these children are accommodated and use any techniques that are needed to make the children feel comfortable during the photography shoot. We do not sue any specialised equipment.

 

13. How do you engage with children to capture their best expressions?

What strategies do you use to make children feel relaxed and natural in front of the camera? Do you have any tips for getting shy children to smile?

We have built up experience over 20 years of how to make children feel comfortable, we concentrate on making the experience fun and relaxed and ensure that everyone enjoys the day.

 

14. Do you offer any digital editing or retouching services?

Can you perform basic photo edits, such as removing blemishes or adjusting lighting? Are these services included in your packages, or are they available at an additional cost?

Yes. We do this as part of the editing process before the images are put online. There is no extra charge for this service.

 

15. How do you handle large group photos, such as the entire nursery or specific grade levels?

What is your process for organizing and capturing large group photos? Are there any special considerations or preparations needed?

We will take class groups by prior arrangement, or we will take small groups and combine them in editing – this will be discussed with you at the time of booking.

 

16. What kind of props or accessories do you provide for the photo sessions?

Do you bring any props or accessories for children to use in their photos?

For graduations we provide gowns and hats. We also provide basic props teddy’s flowers etc.
